A poem for the people, the places, and the moments that should not pass unmarked. A record of what mattered, in language built to last.

John Vale is a man I believe in, and his work on the River Walk is the kind worth standing behind. I wrote the poem that hangs at its entrance, the first thing you meet walking in.

Few things move me the way the care of fostered and orphaned children does. I was asked to write for Foster Village North as it was being brought to life, a poem unveiled alongside the effort that opened its doors. It hangs there still, part of a room built to hold the children the world too easily forgets.

I have watched women I love raise children alone, with a strength most people are never asked to summon. I was commissioned to write the poem presented to Jeremiah Program, whose work helps single mothers and their children build stability and begin again. Words to mark the start of something.
